How does circus school, face painting, sing-alongs, dancing, chill yoga and freshly grilled burgers every day sound? You don't want to miss Sommar på Torget, where children and young people can try sports and fun activities – completely free. See you there June 14–30?
After last year's success, it was an easy decision to organize Sommar på Torget in Kista again this year. The daily activities are part of an initiative that aim to get children and young people to try new sports, meet new friends and create awesome summer holiday memories.
According to Mustafa Ahmed, operations manager at Kista Träff, the project means a lot to many people.
“We open our arms to all of Järva! There are some children here whose families can’t afford to travel. Our activities mean they can make nice summer memories to talk about when school starts again.”
200 free burgers a day!
Sommar på Torget is now in its sixth year. Just like last year, there will be a circus school from Clowner utan Gränser, DIY crafts, face painting, singing, dancing, yoga and lots of ball sports. All under the supervision of around 20 young adults, who get summer jobs thanks to the initiative.
“Particularly appreciated are the 200 hamburgers that are grilled every day. We want children and families to be able to hang out here all day, without having to leave to go have lunch at home.”
Another popular event, according to Mustafa, is when the fire brigade visits. Guests of all ages can test their knowledge of fire safety and those who dare can put out a small fire with a fire extinguisher.
“Even adults take an interest and can get important information about how to increase fire safety at home. Above all, it is super important that our children have positive contact with the police and the fire brigade,” says Mustafa.
So, pack your bag with a water bottle, put on your comfortable shoes and come hang out at Kista torg! All activities are free of charge.
